Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2025

The short version

goTuck does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Your links, notes, tags, and settings live entirely inside your own browser using IndexedDB — a local database that never leaves your device. We have no servers that receive your link data. We cannot see what you save.

What we do not collect

  • Your links, URLs, titles, notes or tags
  • Your name, email address or any account information
  • Your IP address or precise location
  • Any information about which websites you visit
  • Cookies for tracking or advertising purposes

Website icons

goTuck displays the favicon (site icon) for each link you save. These icons are fetched directly from the source website — for example, a GitHub link fetches its icon from github.com/favicon.ico. No third-party favicon service is used. This means the only network request made is to the site whose link you already chose to save — no intermediary sees it.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service, to understand general usage of gotuck.app — for example, how many people visit, which pages are viewed, and roughly where visitors come from (country-level).

This data is aggregate and anonymous. We do not use cookies for analytics, we do not collect or store personal information, and we do not track you across other websites. We cannot identify individual users.

Critically: your links, titles, notes, tags, and any content you save in Tuck are never collected, transmitted, or stored by us. All of that lives only in your own browser, on your own device.

Your data stays on your device

Everything you save in goTuck is stored in your browser's IndexedDB storage. This means your data persists across sessions on the same browser and device, but it is not backed up to any cloud service and is not accessible to us. If you clear your browser data, your goTuck links will be deleted. We recommend using the Export JSON feature in the sidebar to keep a backup.

Browser extension

If you use the optional goTuck browser extension, it communicates only with your local goTuck tab via window.postMessage — a browser-native mechanism that does not involve any external server. No link data passes through our infrastructure.

Third-party services

goTuck uses the following third-party services solely for hosting and analytics. None of these services receive your saved link content.

  • Vercel — Hosting, deployment, and cookieless analytics

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what data we collect, we will update this page and note the date at the top. We will never introduce tracking or advertising without clearly disclosing it here first.
